The PRS horizontal cutting machine splits mineral wool boards into thinner layers. Material passes through the machine on conveyor belts, so the cutting length is not limited in any way — the machine will cut a standard commercial board just as readily as material fed continuously.
A single set saw blade
Cutting is done by one endless set saw blade. When splitting wool into layers this gives a clean, even surface and minimal waste — the kerf is narrow, and setting the teeth prevents the blade from binding in denser material.
Height and hold-down adjustment
Cutting height is set steplessly up to 300 mm — it determines the thickness of the layer being cut off. The hold-down that keeps the board in place during the pass is adjusted independently. Being able to set both separately allows work on soft, light wool, where too much pressure crushes the material, as well as on hard boards that need a firm grip.
Feed control
Feed speed is set with a potentiometer, steplessly. The operator matches it to the density of the material: slower on hard boards, faster on light wool — without entering a menu and without interrupting the work.
Material transport
The board enters and leaves on belts, and a roller table in front of the machine makes feeding from a pallet easier. The whole process is handled by a single operator from the station beside the control cabinet.
